Forschungszentrum Jülich – JARA-Institute Quantum Information (JARA-IQI) – PGI-11
This institute pursues a diverse set of topics that further our theoretical understanding of electronic systems and devices at nano- and atomic scales, and the experimental application of these small quantum systems to new forms of information processing.
Role within QSolid
On the theory side, PGI-11 contributes to modelling of the potentially destructive effects of superconducting quasiparticles on the functioning of our superconducting qubits, developing strategy to effectively avoid problems. In the experiment we are validating the operation of cryoelectronic circuits in conjunction with our own qubit chips. To the same end, we perform extensive simulation to guide the development of future cryogenics quantum control chips for a scalable hardware platform.
