LPKF Laser & Electronics AG

LPKF was founded in 1976. Today, about 700 employees work at the company that develops and produces machines and system technology for electronics production, electronics prototyping, polymer welding and photovoltaics. Since the beginning of the 1990s, LPKF uses lasers as the core tool in many machines. Today, over 80% of the turnover is generated with laser-based systems. LPKF has always focused on developing specific technologies for target markets, which has resulted in leading positions in nearly all markets supplied by LPKF.

Role within QSolid

One of LPKF’s business segment deals with PCB prototyping, i.e. system technology for the development and production of printed circuit boards in small quantities. In this area, LPKF can draw on extensive experience in laser processing and laminating of sensitive, flexible PCB materials. This knowledge is applied in QSolid for the development of flexible wiring within the cryostat of the quantum computer.

Our vision for QSolid

GF’s mission is to enable the use of GF’s advanced technologies such as 22FDX for general quantum computing, and position itself as leader in this emerging performance computing field.
