Forschungszentrum Jülich - Institute for Quantum Computing Analytics – PGI-12

Our Institute is dedicated to theoretical and numerical research in the broad areas of quantum computing, quantum algorithms, quantum information, relativistic quantum information and quantum technologies. The Institute is led by the Director Prof. Dr. Frank Wilhelm-Mauch and is currently composed of four main groups, each performing research on different topics. We are embedded in the Forschungszentrum Jülich, which is one of the forefront research institutes within the German research landscape. It comprises many units, institutes (such as the PGI institutes) and research groups. Our physical location is at the main campus in between the cities of Jülich and Düren, which can easily be reached by car and by train from major cities such as Aachen and Köln.

Role within QSolid

PGI 12 is coordinating the overall project and performing some of the system integration engineering and management. Its research programs provides the pivot point between hard- and software and within the software stack. It is specifically developing hardware-adapted error mitigation strategies and connects the compiler to the firmware stack.

Our vision for QSolid

PGI12s mission is theory for quantum computers that connects the different layers of description – e.g. hardware with applications. An integrated project like QSolid could not be a better match to that mission.
